Join The Iowa Barber Cosmetology School Association
Together, we can protect and grow Iowa’s barbering and cosmetology industry. If you are a Cosmetology School in Iowa, You may join as a Member. If you are not a Cosmetology School, you may become an Associate Member.
On behalf of the Iowa Barber and Cosmetology School Association (IBCSA), we invite you to join a committed and growing community of Iowa’s licensed cosmetology and barbering schools working together to shape the future of our profession.
Since 1961, IBCSA has proudly served as the collective voice for Iowa’s schools—supporting student success, promoting high-quality education, and advocating for sound public policy that sustains our industry. Now more than ever, as regulatory challenges and outside pressures continue to impact our schools, we need your voice at the table.
Why Join IBCSA?
As a member, your school gains:
- A Voice at the Statehouse – We actively advocate on legislative and regulatory issues affecting your school, students, and the industry.
- Continuing Education – Members receive free access to annual continuing education for school instructors from nationally recognized trainers.
- Industry Connection – Join a strong network of Iowa school owners and industry professionals who meet quarterly, vote on association matters, and collaborate on key issues.
- Access to Partners & Resources – Stay informed, share best practices, and benefit from relationships with statewide industry partners.
Membership Dues & Support of the Industry
Annual membership dues are $105 per school. In addition, each school contributes:
- $39 per graduating student to cover general association expenses.
- $10 per graduating student to the IBCSA PAC to ensure we continue to have strong representation at the State Capitol.
Together, we can protect and grow Iowa’s barbering and cosmetology industry. Your membership helps ensure the long-term sustainability of our profession and prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing landscape.
